Crossing continents, the way this award recognizes coaches and media figures alongside players is itself a form of respect for the people who support the foundation of the national setup. There's something other confederations could learn from shining a light on the people behind the scenes, not just the players who get attention before a big tournament.
Structurally, having an awards platform that covers coaches and media as well as players reflects a view of football as an organization, not just a game on the pitch. I want to keep intent and outcome separate here, but Racing being named across several categories is itself a sign of reproducible, well-run club management in my view.
It's easy to get caught up chasing unconfirmed transfer news, but stories building toward a year-end awards ceremony like this are part of the fun of following South American football. An honor with a clear, grounded origin feels a lot better than anything tied to a transfer fee, and I mean that.
