2026 European Road Trip Ranking: Spain Tops Germany, Luxembourg and the UK

When picking a road trip destination, fuel costs and toll fees vary a lot by country too, so I'd want the ranking to factor that in.

Does Spain actually have a lot of winding roads? I can't picture it as a touring destination.

Surprising that Luxembourg cracked the top ranks - despite its small territory, I guess the density of routes is what pays off for the high score.

The evaluation criteria of climate, roads, and fun combined feels too vague - curious what they actually weighted most.

Germany seems like it'd have good road infrastructure, yet it loses out on the 'riding enjoyment' axis.

Spain being #1 makes sense given it has both climate and roads going for it.
