From a development standpoint, conceding like this late is a shared challenge for squads with a lot of young players. I don't think you should rush it, but thinking about what remains five years from now, I'd frame this as an experience to sharpen their late-game focus.
The whole stadium, not just behind the goal, was on its feet for Messi's goal, and that heat was real. But how quickly it went quiet the moment Nashville equalised says just as much about where Miami is right now. The city's energy and the results still aren't lining up.
To put it plainly, getting caught right at the start of stoppage time was everything. When Messi put Miami ahead in the 62nd it looked settled, but over the full 90, Miami's defence never quite matched Nashville's all-in pressure in the closing stages.

MLS side Colorado Rapids have signed Ghana international winger Ibrahim Sadiq, 26, from Dutch top-flight club AZ Alkmaar, on a deal through the 2027-28 season with a club option. Sadiq scored 18 goals in 85 appearances for AZ and was part of their 2025-26 KNVB Cup-winning squad.
