Yamaha Files Patent for a "Bending Swingarm" — Rear-Grip Control for the Next-Gen R1?

Can't quite picture how a swingarm that folds would actually be structured.

If Yamaha's going this far, my guess is Honda and Ducati have similar patents filed too.

Just the sound of "active grip control" already has me nothing but hyped for the next R1's potential.

MotoGP tech trickling down this far into production bikes would've been unthinkable just a few years ago.

This is still just a patent filing, so whether it actually makes it onto the next R1 is completely unknown.

A folding swingarm — so they're trying to translate the ride-height device concept down to production bikes.
