PAOK announced the signing of DR Congo international forward Simon Banza on a season-long loan from Al Jazira, with a buy option of 4 million euros set for summer 2027. The 30-year-old, who has scored heavily at Braga and Trabzonspor, will wear squad number 24.

I'll admit I don't have a strong feel for European transfer valuations, but I'm drawn to the career choice of restarting on loan at 30. It's not something that shows up in the numbers, but moving your base almost every year takes a toll that Japanese players deal with too.
Structurally, Banza is the type of forward with a strong nose for the box. Judging by his output at Trabzonspor, he has built his numbers more on finishing precision than on creating chances himself. I want to watch how, and whether repeatably, he gets integrated into PAOK's attacking structure.
This isn't a permanent deal, it's a loan. With a buy option reportedly set at 4 million euros, this looks low-risk for PAOK. Given he scored 23 for Braga and 22 for Trabzonspor, the terms alone make this look like a decent piece of business to me.
