I don't want to judge the gap in ability from an 8-0 scoreline alone. In development work, it's the substitutes' performance in lopsided games that tells you more. Fiji's tight win might actually carry more useful material going forward. The numbers show up later.
Bottom line first: New Zealand's eight goals were something else. But beyond the scoreline, Fiji's grit in winning despite conceding three deserves a look too. Watching the full ninety, I'd say the semi-final is where this really starts.
