A 149cc commuter scooter with electromagnetically actuated variable valve lift — that's where Chinese manufacturers are now. The gain is only 1.2 hp, but 14.7 Nm at 6,000 rpm is something you genuinely feel on Asian roads. My real worry is that nobody has told me yet how much fits under the seat.

The 18W USB-C is quietly the best bit. You'd use it every commute.

15.6hp and 14.7 Nm at 6,000 rpm from 149cc. Genuinely solid numbers.

Adding VVL for 1.2 more horsepower — is that really worth the cost?
