The turning point was Adeyemi's late strike, but the bigger story beyond the scoreline was Ndukwe's first appearance in my view. Even in a partial ninety minutes, handling several defensive moments calmly left a genuinely good impression on me.
I don't usually follow qualifiers for this one, so from a different angle, young players loaned out over permit issues are also worth watching for what they say about a country's future squad depth. Getting minutes like this ahead of bigger tournaments carries real value down the line.
Being loaned out over a work-permit snag isn't rare in this business, but notching a competitive debut off the bench in the 71st minute is a real marker for a young player. Nothing's settled yet, but with this game under his belt the path back to Liverpool looks a bit clearer to me now.
